Emannuel Villanis - Saida - Sculpture

To an image by Emannuel Villanis, Saida, Art Nouveau bust of a girl. It is a galvanoplastry, made of a layer of bronze-coloured copper over a core of plaster. On a marble foot, the sculpture is fixed on the base. H. 30 cm, French, ca. 1910.

About the sculptor Emmanuel Villanis (1858 â 1914):
Emmanuel Villanis was born in Lille, December 12, 1858, from Italian parents. After the proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy in March 1861, the family returned to their country and settled in Piedmont. From 1871 to 1880 Emmanuel Villanis was a student at the Academy of fine arts Albertina in Turin, where he studied with master sculptor Odoardo Tabacchi (1831-1905).

2. Purchased items not picked up within 10-business days following the date of the auction will be subject to a storage charge  per day, per item. BASEL AUCTION HOUSE will not be held responsible for the loss or damage to items left on the premises beyond the ten-business day grace period. If purchased lot(s) are not picked up after 2 months from the date of auction and you have not contacted us for other arrangements, the transaction will be cancelled and payment refunded, minus the storage fee.

3. International bidders are responsible for all taxes, tariffs, fees, assessments and customs charge for items shipped outside the Continental U.S.

4. Buyers accept that shippers assume all responsibility for items once they have left the premises. Buyers agree BASEL AUCTION HOUSE assumes no liability, nor will hold insurance for loss or damage after shippers have removed the property from premises. 20.
