CAMEJO, Crescencio, (Cuban/American, 1899-1980): Landscape Scene, Oil on Board, signed and dated 1957, lower left,
Crescencio Camejo was born in Agramonte, Cuba on April 19, 1899, and died in New York City on February 23, 1980. He studied art at the Academia San Alejandro in Havana, Cuba.
He painted mostly landscapes both in Cuba and in New York in a style considered to be impressionist. Many of his works depict scenes from Central Park and Prospect Park in New York City.
He participated in various exhibitions in Havana among them The Third National Exhibition of Painters in the Capitol in 1948, and exhibitions by the Circulo de Bellas Artes in 1939 and 1952 when he won prizes.
He participated in the First Spanish American Biennial of Art in 1952. In New York he last exhibited his work at the Casa de Espana in 1979.

2. Purchased items not picked up within 10-business days following the date of the auction will be subject to a storage charge  per day, per item. BASEL AUCTION HOUSE will not be held responsible for the loss or damage to items left on the premises beyond the ten-business day grace period. If purchased lot(s) are not picked up after 2 months from the date of auction and you have not contacted us for other arrangements, the transaction will be cancelled and payment refunded, minus the storage fee.

3. International bidders are responsible for all taxes, tariffs, fees, assessments and customs charge for items shipped outside the Continental U.S.

4. Buyers accept that shippers assume all responsibility for items once they have left the premises. Buyers agree BASEL AUCTION HOUSE assumes no liability, nor will hold insurance for loss or damage after shippers have removed the property from premises. 20.
